STEPHEN BOON

Stephen Boon is the President, COO and a Director of Lee Risk Management Inc.  He joined the agency in 1978 after thirteen years as a successful executive in the retail and garment industry in New York City.  With his decade’s long broker experience and underwriting training, he was promoted to President of the Lee Insurance Agency where he expanded the entire commercial lines division which included coverage for Public Entity, Financial Institutions and a growing Non-Profit Sector.

Mr. Boon’s experience and outstanding reputation in the insurance industry lead him to hold leadership positions in several high profile insurance associations.  He is an Emeritus Director of the Insurance Federation of New York, a board member and past President of the Chinese American Insurance Association and served as a member of the Diversity Task Force (now Council) of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.

As a leader in local Asian American community, Mr. Boon is an advisor to many nonprofit organizations on their insurance programs and has managed the insurance programs for municipal clients such as the NYC Economic Development Corporation, Everlasting Pines Senior Citizens HUD Housing Complex, The Long Island Railroad, Metro North Railroad, Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), Dormitory Authority of the State of NY (DASNY) New York City Health and Hospital Corporation and the Empire State Development Corporation.

Mr. Boon is a licensed NYS Insurance Broker in Property and Casualty as well as Life, Accident and Health. He is a graduate of Long Island University at CW Post Westbury with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  He is bi-lingual and conversant in Cantonese Chinese.
