JONATHAN KAO

Jonathan Kao is a Managing Director of Lee Risk Management Inc. (LRM).  Mr. Kao brings broad experience in Underwriting, Claims, Brokerage, Client Interface and Team Management to LRM having held senior and management roles in these areas.  Beyond his primary duties of coverage placement and client service, Mr. Kao also oversees special projects and liaising with carrier partners and client risk managers.  He is integrally involved with clients and joint venture projects of LRM such as DASNY, MTA, NYS Empire State Development Corp, etc.

 

Prior to his current role with LRM, Mr. Kao held underwriting roles at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and ANV Global Services.  He has successfully managed and grown large books of Management Liability and Professional Liability lines of business. In his most recent position at ANV, he managed teams of underwriters and support staff, expanding his unit and book of business.

Mr. Kao also previously serves as an assistant manager/liability insurance adjuster for Crawford & Company in their Taipei, Taiwan office.  Here he specialized in the handling of overseas Product Liability claims and reviewed claims reports for quality and accuracy.

 

Mr Kao’s expertise in management liability, claims, underwriting and risk management enables him to lead LRM in expanding its risk management portfolio in public entity and municipalities, and the nonprofit sector. His rapport with clients, risk managers, carrier partners and underwriting staff, provides a foundation for retention and growth of LRM’s long history of brokerage and emergence as a leader of risk management.

 

Jonathan Kao is a Licensed Property & Casualty Broker in NYS, graduated from Stuyvesant High School and the State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Accounting.  He also studied at the National Taiwan University’s School of Management in Taipei, Taiwan and graduated with a Masters of Business Administration.  He is fluent in Mandarin (both written and oral) which enables him to communicate with many Asian clients in Flushing where he resides with his wife and two children.
