Eva Chan, born in Shenzhen, China and raised in New York City was a recent graduate of Queens College when she joined Lee Insurance in 2000 and became a integral member of the team at Lee Risk Management Inc. She began as a customer service representative who quickly became a licensed insurance broker and property and casualty became her major focus and concentration. She attended licensing courses at St. John’s University (formerly College of Insurance) and studied in their risk management division which prepared her for work in public entity, municipalizes and the nonprofit sector.
Ms. Chan’s former professional background in banking at Green Point Savings bank and Chase Bank provided her with a strong foundation in retail banking, investment and fiscal operations enabling her to develop the strong Financial Institution and Banking Practice at Lee Insurance and Lee Risk Management. She leads the agency as a senior Account executive and manager for financial institutions, banks, non-profit organizations and public entities. She advises many New York City and State agencies such as DASNY, MTA, NYC Health & Hospital Corporation on professional liability, Executive Protection, Boiler & Machinery, Workers Compensation, Crime & Fidelity coverage, Human Resources and Cyber Liability. She promotes best practices and manages a team of commercial lines brokers and educates her clients on risk management, loss control, potential cyber liability exposures and claim handling. She also encourages fiscal discipline and promotes astute underwriting.
Ms. Chan has excellent rapport with clients who are risk managers, and they often utilize Lee Risk Management as a resource and consultant through her efforts. Ms. Chan is fluent in several Chinese dialects such as Cantonese, and Mandarin. She attended and graduated from Queens College CUNY with a bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology.
